Ops Insights #025 My Wish for You
October 6, 2023 | Read Time: 2 minutes | Written by Jenny Kleintop
Growing up, I had a lot of negative-minded people in my life. I had to learn to let go of people like this as it drained my energy and made my own perspective negative.
I’ve been in plenty of situations at work throughout the years where I’ve encountered negative-minded people. I’ve learned it’s hard to change people, but I need to respect their chosen path.
Sometimes it’s built-up frustrations that we can work through. Most of the time, simply listening helps others and the negativity can turn into positivity. Other times, it’s too much of an uphill battle, so I’ve learned to steer away from these situations and into situations where there is more positivity, uplifting, and supporting each other.
When I am able to surround myself with more positive-minded people, my energy is higher, and my mind is clearer to create, innovate, and do magical things (yes, some have called me super-human).
Let’s help you find those positive-minded people to uplift you and fuel your ambitions!
Take Action
Here are a few steps you can take:
Assess who you surround yourself with. Do they uplift you or try to tear you down? Do they give you more energy or de-energize you?
For those that drain your energy, take steps to spend less time with them (I’m not saying cut them out of your life); simply choose to spend more time with positive-minded people. Half the battle is knowing who gives you or takes energy away.
Don't give up if you cannot find positive-minded people in your inner circle, find an outer circle, such as an online community. Follow LinkedIn posts and see who is talking about their communities in a positive light.
You are worth being energized and uplifted. Don’t think anything less!
